Reynosa Update: SUNDAY

We had an enjoyable day today!  Everyone is healthy, happy, and unified!  We had a good breakfast, attended a 2+ hour church service, had a good lunch, and then...

We had a meeting in which we were told we were completely changing plans for our ministry times!  (A key to any successful mission trip is a joyful spirit of flexibility, right?!)  These changes will begin tomorrow, and will replace our original morning plans to do the jail ministry, Bible studies, visitation, and construction, as well as our evening plans to do the park ministry.

In the mornings, we're partnering with the eight folks from the Alliance Church in Wadena, MN, to put on their VBS.  They were planning for 40-50 kids in one home.  Now we're doing three homes, with at least 50 kids EACH!

In the evenings, the Wadena church will be assisting us. We'll still be doing our park ministry format, only not in front of our anticipated 30-40 kids at the park.  Now it will be on the church grounds, and in front of TEN TIMES THE KIDS!!!  That's right: 300-400 KIDS! WOW!  The Reynosa church is (thankfully) covering the expense of additional supplies, and offering significant volunteer help, so we're okay there.  But we'll have to make significant logistical adjustments to pull this off!  Please pray for wisdom, patience, faith, and peace.

Tomorrow morning will be our first prayer gathering at 5:00am, so I'm going to wrap up this update now.  I'll try to get a better update for you tomorrow, with pictures!
